SCOTT LEGARY

We are sorry to inform you of the passing of Scott Legary — a man whose heart, humor, and resilience touched everyone who knew him.

Three years ago, Scott’s life changed forever when he sustained a devastating spinal cord injury. What followed was a journey that tested every limit imaginable—but also revealed the true depth of his strength. Through pain, loss, and unimaginable challenges, Scott faced each day with courage, grace, and a quiet determination that inspired everyone around him.

Those who knew Scott knew his laughter—how it filled a room—and his compassion, which never wavered even in the face of hardship. He had an uncanny ability to lift others up, even when the weight of his own circumstances was heavy. His perseverance reminded us what it means to be human: to love deeply, to fight fiercely, and to find gratitude in moments both big and small.

Scott left this world on November 6, through his own choice—a decision made with the same clarity, honesty, and dignity that defined his entire journey. In choosing peace on his own terms, he reminded us that courage takes many forms.

His legacy is one of strength, friendship, and community. The outpouring of love from “Friends of Scott Legary” showed just how many lives he impacted—how deeply he was admired and loved.

As we say goodbye, we celebrate not only the man Scott was, but the light he leaves behind. His story will continue to inspire everyone who faces adversity with heart and hope.

To the many people that donated so generously to Scott’s wheelchair and wellness fund, we cannot thank you enough. The remaining dollars will be donated in his name to The Killarney Foundation, more specifically, Killarney Minor Sports, and to the Winkler Flyers Hockey Club.

May you rest peacefully, Scott.
Your resilience will never be forgotten, and your spirit will forever remind us to keep living—and loving — with courage.

In November 2022, a tragic accident occurred that rendered our friend, Scott, a quadriplegic.

He has demonstrated incredible resilience to overcome his physical challenges, but the long-term financial burden to build his new life is real and daunting. Scott would benefit greatly from support of family and friends, ensuring that financial limitations don’t impact what might be possible on his road to independence.

As friends and supporters of Scott, we have created a fund for him in which every single dollar received will be allocated to his healthcare needs.

His most immediate priority is the purchase of a customized wheelchair, estimated at $55,000. Funds raised beyond this goal will be prioritized and allocated to his future healthcare needs. We will use this platform to update his friends on the milestones of his journey to independence.

Your generosity will propel Scott’s journey, providing the necessary financial support to positively impact his quality of his life. We thank you for your support as our friend continues his journey to a build a new, meaningful life of independence.
